Through HopkinsLocal, Johns Hopkins will build on existing community partnerships, projects and programs to sustain healthier, safer and more vibrant communities in Baltimore City.
Under this initiative, the Human Resources Departments for The Johns Hopkins University and Health System will strengthen recruitment efforts for qualified and competitive local candidates for all position levels and by 2018, aim to have 40 percent of new hires in entry-level positions come from communities in select zipcodes in Baltimore City. Those positions include:

The Johns Hopkins University and Health System also plan to support the retention of and career growth for local and underrepresented employees by investing in such resources as career coaches, contracting with local partners to understand organizational culture and environmental barriers to ensuring diversity at all levels, and providing mentorship opportunities for staff through formal programs.
