Privacy Practices
Johns Hopkins and all healthcare providers nationwide have implemented processes to protect patient privacy under the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Patients have greater access to their own medical records and more control over how their personnel information is used. HIPAA and its related regulations affect the way we do business at Hopkins.
All workforce members of Hopkins covered entities who have access to patients or health plan members or their data are required to complete the applicable Hopkins HIPAA training.
To learn more, Hopkins workforce members can access the Hopkins Intranet at http://intranet.insidehopkinsmedicine.org/privacy_office.
