Personal interests: I love a good cafecito, hanging out with my dogs, and enjoying siestas, whether I’m working or not. I’m also into doing my nails, binge-listening to true crime podcasts, and keeping fit with regular workouts. Plus, I’m obsessed with collecting water bottle stickers. I wish I could teleport to my beautiful island of Puerto Rico and travel around the world. These hobbies and dreams keep me balanced and energized.

Kunal Shah, M.D.

Hometown: Bethpage, NY

Medical School: Stony Brook University School of Medicine

Clinical Interests: I’m currently interested in academic cardiology, community outreach, global advocacy, and medical ethics, but I’ll be keeping an open mind over the next three years. Regardless of the specialty I choose, I look forward to and am grateful for the opportunity to form and nurture countless meaningful relationships with my colleagues, my patients, and their families. Parents often don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. An ordinary day in a pediatrician’s life may be the darkest day of a child’s life.

Personal Interests: Developing meaningful relationships is what I value most in life. When I’m not debating the meaning of life, I love to stay active by kickboxing and learning hip hop and bhangra dance choreography.
