The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Office of Medical Education welcomes interested medical students to apply to the high-yield clinical electives available at our campus. All electives have a competitive application process where students should demonstrate values consistent with our mission, strong academic achievement, and an interest in developing a career in pediatrics.

Clinical electives are available to 4th year medical students who are attending either LCME or COCA accredited schools and have completed a pediatrics clerkship. Applicants must be citizens of the U.S. or one of its territories. Clinical electives are typically scheduled for 4 weeks in one of the following specialties, with a maximum of one elective allowed per academic year:

  • Infectious Disease

  • Gastroenterology

  • Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (NICU)

  • Critical Care Medicine (PICU)

  • Emergency Medicine

  • Hematology/Oncology

  • Cardiology

  • Endocrinology

  • Neurology

Application Process

At this time, we are in the process of updating our application process and are evaluating each request on a case-by-case basis. We will prioritize requests for students in need of a rotation that is not available at their home institution and/or with a compelling reason to be in the Tampa Bay area.

To apply, please complete this form (must be signed by someone at your institution) and email it along with the following information and a copy of your CV and transcripts to ach-ome.info@jhmi.edu:
