- Hanzhang Lu’s paper on brain oxygenation was announced as one of the most-cited papers of the year during the ISMRM annual meeting earlier this month. Dr. Lu also offered the keynote presentation during the conference.
- Ajay Kumar Sharma was recently selected as a rising star by the SNMMI's Ones to Watch program, which spotlights rising talent in the field.
- Clifford Weiss was selected, with his Vascular Anomalies Research Team, to receive the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research’s Team Science Award.
- Shadpour Demehri’s paper “A Deep Learning Model for Three-Dimensional Determination of Whole Thoracic Vertebral Bone Mineral Density from Noncontrast Chest CT” published in Radiology.
- Vivek Yedavalli was honored as a fellow of the American Heart Association, conferred by the Stroke Council.
- Johns Hopkins Radiology ranked #4 globally in 2025 ScholarGPS rankings of academic contributions by institutions, scholars, and researchers worldwide. Among the top 100 ranked scholars worldwide, Elliott K. Fishman ranked #2, while Dr. Peter C.M Van Zijl ranked #33 and Dr. Paul H. Bottomley ranked #45.
- Sairam Geethanath was awarded National Institute of Mental Health funding for an R21 proposal supporting work with low-field MRI.

- Dr. Farhad Vesuna - Published paper on the use of RK-2, a small molecule inhibitor of DDX3, to decrease SARS-CoV-2 viral load in four strains. The treatment targets a host protein essential for SARS-CoV-2 replication.

- Dr. Rebecca Krimins - Awarded $500 by The Dog Owners’ Training Club of Maryland toward research on hemangiosarcoma in dogs. She is also working with All Children’s Hospital faculty to translate the therapy to pediatric cancer patients.

- David Yousem is the recipient of the Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA's) Outstanding Educator award for 2018. Each year, the RSNA Board of Directors selects a recipient who has demonstrated significant contributions and a long-term commitment—15 years or more—to radiologic education.
