In most cases, trainees will be provided a designated work area onsite to complete the didactic components of the training program. However, there may be variable circumstances, and alternative arrangements will be made for sites with limited workspace.

Your specific schedule will vary depending upon your hiring pharmacy. Generally, the schedule will be a rotating shift (day/evening rotation). You may be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

In general, the schedule is not flexible. The pharmacy technician training program follows a regimented weekly schedule to ensure that trainees complete all the required hours within the designated period. Technician trainees may be subject to dismissal from the training program if they are more than one week behind on the training program schedule.

Any requests for time off during your pharmacy technician training program duration must be approved by your preceptor and program director/site-specific program coordinator. You will be required to make up missed days.

Any requests for a leave of absence during your pharmacy technician training program duration must be approved by your preceptor and program director/site-specific program coordinator. Technician trainees may be subject to dismissal from the training program if they cannot complete the training program by the maximum duration outlined by the Board of Pharmacy.
