About the Program
The Department of Medicine provides a pathway for physicians within the Osler Medical Residency and the Bayview Internal Medicine Residency to develop robust careers geared toward improving medical education and has created a vigorous educational environment with strong mentorship and support.
Upon completion of the Medical Education Pathway, participants will have developed skills in the following 7 core domains:
- Teaching & Facilitating Learning
- Program & Curriculum Development
- Assessment & Evaluation
- Scholarship
- Mentoring, Coaching & Advising
- Educational Leadership & Administration
- Career Development
Pathway Structure
Participants will engage in a structured ‘boot-camp’ early in junior year, followed by a longitudinal curriculum that will utilize didactics, peer coaching, direct observations and formal mentorship from medical education faculty. Participants will also rotate on medical education electives, during which they will hone the skills they have learned in the pathway, and will complete an education-focused scholarly project.
How to Apply
Request for applications is distributed each January via email. Please reach out to the pathway director with questions.
