Hip and back pain may be thought of as an adult problem, but it can affect children and adolescents too. Student athletes may develop one of these conditions from injury or have an underlying condition. As the only pediatric-focused sports medicine program on Florida’s west coast, Johns Hopkins All Children's sports medicine specialists are experienced in treating these common hip and back conditions.

Back pain in children and adolescents can be caused by a variety of reasons, including injury or underlying medical conditions. If a child has back pain, he or she should see a physician for evaluation. Often, physical therapy can help.
