Laura Hendricks-Jackson, DNP, NEA-BC, OCN | Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Patient Care Services
Laura Hendricks-Jackson has an array of nursing experience in the acute care, academic and community settings. Earlier in her career she served as the Deputy Director at an organization that supports vulnerable populations. Having left the community setting and before joining Sibley Laura spent thirteen years at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the areas of oncology and nursing administration. Laura serves as faculty for graduate and doctoral students and enjoys facilitating the transformation of learning. She is an exam writer and subject matter expert for the American Nurses Association (ANA) and a Nursing Program/Nurse Residency Program on site surveyor for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing (CCNE). Laura is also a member of the Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence Based Practice Steering Committee. She received her doctorate degree in nursing (DNP) from Drexel University in 2015 with a concentration in Executive Leadership.
Christine Inglisa, MSN, RN, NEA-BC | Director of Medical-surgical and Musculoskeletal Nursing
Christine joined Sibley in October, 2001 as the manager of Orthopedics. She has 30 years of combined clinical and nursing leadership experience. Recently Christine completed JHHS first Director’s Cohort for Leadership Development and Advance Executive Leadership Certification. Christine enjoys interacting with employees, spreading the word of philanthropy and representing nursing’s voice on the Sibley foundation board.
Suzanne Lindlaw, MBA, RN, NEA-BC | Director, Resource Management & Financial Services
Suzy came to Sibley in 2001 as Director Resource Management and Financial Systems, and is now the Director for Critical Care and Psychiatry. With almost 30 years of experience in Hospital Administration, Suzy has held many different positions in Reengineering, Informatics, Nursing Finance, and Supply Chain Management. She began her clinical career in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care and often co-leads hospital projects with Finance, HR and Information Technology - bringing the clinical and fiscal management perspective.
D. Elise Miller, MSN, RN | LNHA Administrator, Renaissance & Director, Case Coordination
Elise joined Sibley in November 2002 as Case Coordination Director and also has been the Sibley Renaissance Administrator since 2010. She has 30+ years of health care experience: 15 years of management accomplishments within skilled nursing facilities, insurers, and hospitals. In addition, she has 20+ years of extensive utilization management and case management expertise. Elise is a successful leader who prospers by promoting collaborative approaches to fostering the quality and efficiency of patient care while considering the interests and satisfaction of all involved.
Denise Thompson, BSN, RN | Director, Sibley Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility
Denise joined Sibley in 2007 as a case coordinator and progressed to the manager position in Case Coordination before becoming the director. Her previous experience includes managing a 160 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. She has expertise in RN Case Management in the community, assisted living facilities and the hospital environment. Denise focuses much of her time on clinical excellence and providing compassionate patient-centered care to patients.
Onyinye Mkparu, MSN, MBA, RN, OCN | Director, Oncology, Apheresis & Dialysis
Onyinye joined the Sibley team in January of 2019 as the director of Oncology. She brings over ten years of nursing experience in the acute, ICU and outpatient oncology practice settings. She is passionate about people, oncology nursing and excellence in nursing practice. Before joining Sibley, Onyinye spent 8 years at the Johns Hopkins hospital working and growing as a clinical nurse in various oncology settings. During this time she also began to serve as a clinical faculty for the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She has served as a leader in multiple academic institutions, most recently as the nurse manager of an inpatient Hematology Oncology and bone marrow transplant unit. She currently serves as the Treasurer for the national capital chapter of the Oncology Nurses Association. She received her combined Masters degree in business and nursing from Johns Hopkins University in December of 2016.
Allison Steinberg, MSN, MPH, OCN | Director, Excellence in Nursing Practice and Education
Allison spent many years as an oncology nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a leadership role as the manager of health education with the American Society of Clinical Oncology. With a strong passion for the clinical environment, Allison joined Sibley as a contract nurse in our medical oncology infusion center. In 2013, Allison took on a more permanent role within our education and training office as an oncology nurse specialist. She completed a dual master’s degree program at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and earned a Master’s of Public Health and a Master’s of Science in Nursing (education).
Jessica Machado, MSN, MBA, ACNP-BC, CCRN | Director, Critical Care (ICU/ACC/ED)
Jessica has extensive experience in critical care and trauma medicine. She began her career as a combat paramedic in the United States Army, where she specialized and trained soldiers in emergency medicine, battlefield trauma, and triage. She went on to obtain her nursing baccalaureate degree and worked in several areas of inpatient critical care medicine to include neurology, burn, and medical-surgical intensive care units at hospitals such as Vanderbilt and Washington Hospital Center before joining Sibley in 2015. Jessica graduated with her acute care nurse practitioner degree from Georgetown University in 2017 and paved the way at Sibley, becoming the first nurse practitioner to work in Sibley’s medical-surgical ICU. In her role, Jessica defined the scope, becoming an expert in identification and management of the critically ill patient, performing bedside procedures, and served as a valuable member of the rapid response team. She continues to educate and empower staff on code response, signs of clinical deterioration, hemodynamics management, and artificial ventilation. Jessica is currently obtaining her Master of Business and Doctorate of Nursing in Executive Leadership from Johns Hopkins University.
Tameika Langston, MSN, BSN, RN | Director of Perioperative Services
Tameika received her Master of Science degree in Nursing with specialization in Nursing Education from Walden University in 2011. She practiced as an Emergency Room Staff Nurse in Suffolk VA, served as an MDS Coordinator in Gatesville, NC and was later promoted to Director of Nursing. Eventually, she transitioned to Vidant Medical Center in 2012 as the Manager for Operative Services, followed by a move to Woodbridge, Virginia as Manager for Surgical Services. Finally, in 2017, Tameika joined the Sibley team as an OR manager and continues to advance into various leadership roles.
Felecia I. West, MSN, BSN | Director, Behavioral Health, Aging & Special Programs
Felecia joined Sibley in November of 2018 as Director of Behavioral Health, Aging, and Special Programs which includes Bariatrics, Pre- surgical rehabilitation for elders (PRIME) and the Stroke program. She has over 15 years of health care and leadership experience and began her nursing career at Johns Hopkins Hospital where she advanced to leadership roles in nursing education and administration. Felecia also has a wealth of experience related to behavioral health, talent development, aging populations, and program development. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Health Systems Management from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in 2010. Felecia is dedicated to improving the quality and safety of health care through effective communication and motivational leadership strategies.
Alexis White, MSN | Director, Women's and Infant's Services
Alexis White is the Director of Women’s and Infant’s Services at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Alexis is a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse leader, specializing in organizational throughput and lean thinking. She possesses outstanding leadership skills and over ten years of experience in cardiac, women’s health, labor and delivery, recovery and postpartum care.
Alexis transitioned to Sibley from Carolina’s Healthcare System where she was a Daisy Award recipient, amongst other distinctions. More recently, Alexis worked at Sibley as the Nurse Manager of our Family-Centered Care Unit. During her tenure at Sibley, she participated in and led many lean/design projects and was very influential in improving the patient experience on FCCU.
Alexis completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Liberty University and earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing (Education) in 2013.
