The Johns Hopkins Mindfulness Program aims to provide stress reduction resources and programs to the Johns Hopkins community and beyond in an effort to support optimal health and well-being.
The Johns Hopkins Mindfulness Program
The Johns Hopkins Mindfulness Program provides various mindfulness-based courses for patients, faculty and staff taught by Dr. Neda Gould. This includes the evidence-based Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program. The MBSR course is an 8-week program that includes didactics on stress, guided meditations, mindful communication, gentle yoga, approaches to bring mindfulness to daily life, home practice and a full-day silent retreat. Other courses include workshops on mindful communication and tailored departmental retreats. These can be taught in-person or virtually.

She is certified in MBSR through the University of California San Diego Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute, the highest level of certification available for a mindfulness meditation teacher. Dr. Gould is a member of the Johns Hopkins Miller-Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence and was the first PhD member inducted into the academy, which was historically open only to physicians.
