The Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers a two-year clinical postdoctoral fellowship program in neuropsychology (major area of study). Program Information
Our clinical postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology focuses on assessment, treatment and consultation regarding adult rehabilitation populations with a wide range of injuries, illnesses, disabilities, acute and chronic health conditions, as well as development of skills in supervision, research and practice management. The training program's mission is to provide an organized sequence of experiential and didactic education and training activities with focused supervision and mentoring to develop advanced competencies in the specialty area of neuropsychology sufficient for independent practice, eligibility for board certification (ABPP-CN), and leadership in patient care and research.
Fellows will provide direct assessment and treatment for rehabilitation inpatients and outpatients, work closely with rehabilitation teams, engage in consultation with other health care providers, and participate in practice management activities. Minor rotation in pediatric neuropsychology is available through partnership with the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Fellows will also participate in supervision of psychology externs and psychometricians, attend the weekly didactics and monthly seminars, and will work closely with their mentors to develop participation in clinical research enterprises at Johns Hopkins.
Required Qualifications
- A doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited program and including an APA-accredited internship. Applicants from CPA-accredited programs also eligible to apply.
- All degree requirements, including dissertation and internship completion, must be met before starting the fellowship on September 1st
- Successful completion of a criminal background check if offered a position
- If offered a position, proof of COVID-19 and flu vaccination in adherence with JHU/JHM vaccination policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervised experience providing psychological assessment and intervention services in neuropsychology
- Research productivity as evidenced by professional conference presentations and/or peer-reviewed publications
- Participation in relevant professional organizations
- All degree requirements should be met by July 31st to allow time for credentialing (those who anticipate being unable to meet this deadline should contact the program director as soon as possible)
