The overall goal of the IRAT SR is to integrate new algorithmic methods with radiological imaging into clinical trials to improve tumor assessment by using quantitative imaging methods tailored to the tumor site. Moreover, the biopsy management team works to ensure that each program requiring tissue samples for pathological evaluation of therapy are obtained safely and the physicians are informed of the necessary tissue cores that are needed for each protocol. The combined elements of imaging and tissue acquisition are the strengths of both clinical integration and advanced imaging methods within radiology to achieve a new personalized medicine approach to cancer.
