The Pediatric Oncology Nursing Staff is committed to delivering extraordinary family-centered professional nursing care. Through our professional practice model/ primary nursing model and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, it is our mission to respond to the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of our patients and their families across the continuum of care. Through patient and family education, patient advocacy, and the incorporation of evidence based practice, it is our goal to foster an environment of trust and mutual respect in which to provide safe comprehensive care and promote healing.
As pediatric oncology nurses, it is our vision to foster a culture of nursing excellence. In a dynamic and collaborative environment, we will continually strive as individuals and as a team to assess our performance and to implement innovations for performance improvement. The Pediatric Oncology Social Workers are committed to enhancing the emotional and physical well-being of children with cancer and their families. Pediatric oncology social workers are clinicians, educators, advocates, and researchers. Each family is assigned a primary social worker, an integral member of the health care team.
