Now Utilizing AI Software for Mammograms

Our subspecialized breast imaging radiologists are now utilizing an FDA-cleared AI tool to assist them in reading mammogram images from Johns Hopkins Radiology locations. The AI tool is designed to work with our radiologists like a second reader, helping us find more cancers and find them earlier, while also potentially reducing the number of patient callbacks for diagnostic workups. Johns Hopkins Radiology does not charge patients or their insurance companies for this software.

Graduating Diagnostic Mammogram Patients to Screening

Patients with a past breast cancer diagnosis who have 1 year of diagnostic mammograms with no new suspicious findings will be graduated to screening mammograms. Patients who have been treated with mastectomy or who have had surgery for benign reasons will be immediately scheduled for screening mammograms which allow patients to benefit from greater scheduling availability, faster appointment times, and lower charges.
