Schedule Imaging Exams Online

Patients now have the convenient option to schedule certain exams including mammograms, ultrasounds, CT exams, x-ray, DEXA, and select MRI exams online through the Johns Hopkins MyChart portal. Select your preferred day, time, and location by logging into your account at MyChart. Your exam results and images will also be available on MyChart 3-5 days after your appointment.

Our team will make sure that you get the right exam at the right location by reviewing each appointment that was scheduled online. You will still receive prep instructions and all information you need to know sent via MyChart before your exam.

Integrated with Johns Hopkins

If you received an order from a Johns Hopkins provider, that will automatically be available in MyChart. Exams that do not require orders, such as screening mammograms, are available at any time. Patients will still need to list the name of a provider who will receive the radiology report.

Appointment Scheduling Instructions

We’ve provided step-by-step instructions below on how to schedule online. Click through the slideshow or download a PDF version for when you need to schedule an exam.

  • You can schedule certain exams online through MyChart.

  • Your appointment is scheduled.  You can click the printer icon to print the confirmation page. Read all the visit instructions carefully to avoid a cancelled appointment. Use the contact information for any additional questions or to update information.

  • To cancel your exam, log back into MyChart if it's 24 hours before your scheduled visit. To cancel earlier or to reschedule, please call 443-997-7237. After you exam, you will receive a notification when your tests results are available to view. 

  • If you have any technical questions about MyChart, contact the Help Desk Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. at 855-389-6928.

  • Thank you for choosing Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging. 

  • Your MyChart homepage will have a welcome message, alerts and the ability to see your bill and link to additional organizations. 

  • To schedule a new appointment, click on "Menu" and then "Schedule an appointment".

  • Select the appropriate option at the righthand side of your screen.

  • For exams that require and order, you must schedule from an existing scheduling ticket. Scheduling tickets are available after your provider has placed an order for the exam. Then click "schedule now".

  • After selecting your exam, you might answer questions related to your exam. These questions might be double-checked in person, before or during your appointment. Then click "continue".

  • Next, you can select your location. Not all locations will be available depending on the type of exam being scheduled.

  • Then you can select a date and time. Click on any of the green boxes to select that time. 

  • Finally you will see the visit instructions. This information will be available to print in the next screen. Double-check your appointment information here. Be sure to click the green "schedule" button. 

Downloading Images Instructions

You can view both new and past radiology images in your MyChart account by clicking the “Linked Information button” at the bottom of your exam report.

Additional MyChart Benefits

MyChart is a secure website that provides the most up-to-date medical information available to you about your Johns Hopkins care and connects you to your health care team. MyChart offers telemedicine options with providers, appointment reminders, and is available in English and Spanish.

Access to Radiology Results

Your written report and images will both be accessible through your MyChart account when available. Find out how to view your images.

How to sign up for MyChart

Current patients can sign up for MyChart by filling out a form online. On the MyChart login page, click "Sign Up And Verify," enter your contact information and verify your identity to create a MyChart account.

You can also use the activation code provided on your After Visit Summary after your appointment. You can sign up at home when it is convenient for you, within 45 days of the visit. From your computer or mobile device, log on to mychart.hopkinsmedicine.org and, using your unique authentication code, follow the steps to enroll in MyChart.
