Ish’shah Sherd holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stevenson University and comes to the Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery with experience in Critical Care and Intermediate Care nursing at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her work helps to provide our patients at the Center with the highest quality care while ensuring respect for their conscientious beliefs and wishes to be treated without a blood transfusion. As an active member of Jehovah’s Witnesses community, she brings to the Center for Bloodless Medicine and Surgery a unique combination of clinical knowledge and training along with an understanding of the stand our patients take on treatment without blood transfusions.
Liz Hendricks has a Master of science in Nursing, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She has a varied background including, surgery, pre-operative anesthesia management, Interventional Neuroradiology, emergency medicine and oncology. She manages outpatient treatments for our team, as well as providing inpatient consults. Liz works with Dr. Resar to maximize patients’ condition prior to surgery. Because of her wide-ranging experience, she brings to our program a unique understanding of patients’ needs, along with compassion, and respect for their wishes to be treated without a transfusion.
Andy Pippa is an active member/elder of the Jehovah’s Witness community and acts as a liaison between the community and our medical staff to ensure that patients get the care they deserve. He previously served as the clinical coordinator for a Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Program in Connecticut where he was also a healthcare system navigation specialist. His extensive experience in helping patients with insurance approvals and in assisting uninsured patients with financial issues and drug access allows our patients to focus on their health and recovery.
Lindsay Patrick Fremont is an active member/elder of the Jehovah?s Witness community and served as a coordinator for several bloodless medicine and surgery programs in Philadelphia and Abington, PA. With over 27 years of involvement in the bloodless medicine and surgery field, he brings a wealth of experience in providing patient support and ensuring all our patients find the right physician for their needs. He will also play an instrumental role in marketing and promoting bloodless medicine and conducting community-based health seminars.
