Obesity is a complex disorder that affects the physical and mental health of millions of Americans. It can lead to diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, abdominal hernias and respiratory issues, in addition to several other chronic diseases. Bariatric surgery is the most effective long-term treatment for obesity, helping patients to lose more weight and to maintain a healthier weight. Quality of life is dramatically improved and obesity-related diseases are either alleviated or completely remedied.
Our research directly benefits current and future patients by improvement of diseases like diabetes after bariatric surgery, the prevention of complications including innovation in minimally invasive surgery and the prevention of nutritional deficiencies and other matters of long-term care following bariatric surgery. These research initiatives have been made possible through the generosity of our grateful patients and donors.
Contributions can be made in support of bariatric surgery in general, or can be restricted to benefit the work of a specific bariatric surgeon or a specific area of bariatric research.
In the gift designation menu, choose “The Center for Bariatric Surgery Fund.” If you would like to direct your gift to a specific surgeon or area, please note that in the “Other designation” field.
Thank you for your partnership. With your help, we can continue to advance our research and provide a better quality of life for patients. For additional information or to explore other giving opportunities, please contact:
