Center for Pediatric Clinical Translational Research, Training, Education, Engagement and Mentorship
The Center for Pediatric Clinical/Translational Research Training, Education, Engagement and Mentorship serves as an education and training resource to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital principal investigators, sub-investigators and their study team members on best practices for conducting clinical research. Resources developed by the Center also yield peer-review scholarship, and programs developed by the Center will facilitate or augment training grant applications.
Education and training initiatives led by the Center to date include:
- Advanced didactic and applied (i.e., practicum-based) training and mentorship in pediatric clinical research through the Clinical and Translational Research Training Track, among others.
- A unique training module (registered on TransCelerate) on operationalizing clinical and translational research principles into best practices in the context of the pediatric clinical research study lifecycle (start-up through manuscript publication);
- A monthly lecture series that includes numerous research-related topics (the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research Seminar Series)
The Center aims to increase clinician engagement by providing a detailed understanding of the process for opening a protocol and conducting research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s, an understanding of core services that exist to support research and how and when to engage those services, and by facilitating a connection to a community of peers and mentors also conducting research at Johns Hopkins All Children’s through engagement task forces.
