Approximately 80% of our fellows are retained by Hopkins and approximately 90% of our fellows are recruited into leadership roles at academic hospitals nationally for their first post-fellowship job.

Our Fellows have held a variety of competitive positions post-fellowship including Director of Operations, Assistant Administrator, Ambulatory Services Manager, and Financial Analyst. Many alumni fellows at Hopkins remaining a part of a close net community to welcome and support incoming fellows. Further along in their careers, many fellows are serving in competitive executive leadership roles. For example, prior JHM Administrative Fellows are currently serving as President, CEO, COO, and Chief Administrative Officer.

“My favorite component of the JHM Administrative Fellowship is the family-like atmosphere among the alumni and current fellows. JHM chooses three fellows each year, and a high percentage of us have found opportunities within the system post-fellowship. Consequently, you automatically gain 15+ friends who have a vested interest to see you succeed. Being exposed to the operations and cultures among the various entities within the organization (academic vs. community hospitals, international operations, ambulatory surgery centers, etc.) provided me with a better understanding of what leadership within a large health delivery system entails. I pursued this fellowship as I wanted the chance to witness the various roles one could pursue within a health system and hopefully walk into an opportunity post-fellowship fully confident of what would be expected of me in such a role. One of my fondest memories is having dinner with the President of Johns Hopkins University, President Ron Daniels, and being so captured by his passion for Baltimore and helping people.
