Grand Rounds
Wilmer Eye Institute Grand Rounds is a weekly, hour-long conference during which interesting, difficult, and unusual eye cases are presented for discussion. The audience typically includes world experts in the disease processes being discussed. The attendees will be exposed to the best current thinking about the topics by the presenter and the discussants.
Who Should Attend
This activity is intended for ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, researchers focused on the eye, and medical students.
Activity Objectives
After participating in this activity, the learner will demonstrate the ability to:
- Employ a multidisciplinary, cooperative, and iterative approach to the exchange of medical education across the breadth of Johns Hopkins Medicine and affiliate practitioners and educators.
- Improve the safety and quality of patient care by analyzing systems-based and practice-based processes.
- Translate recent research, new techniques, guidelines, etc. to clinical practice, based on the methodological quality of their design, validity, and applicability to patient care.
- Foster communication among healthcare stakeholders by exploring and integrating patient-centered, team-based strategies, when appropriate.
- Compare and contrast patient outcomes of past cases with current one to inform treatment strategies.

Credit Designation Statement
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine designates this regularly scheduled series - live activity for a maximum of one (1) AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This series has been approved for a 52 week cycle beginning July 1, 2020.

Regularly Scheduled Conferences
The Wilmer Retina Division Weekly Medical/Surgical Teaching Conference- Through case presentations involving fundus photographs, fluorescein angiograms, optical coherence tomograms, and other images of the retina, an update is provided on understanding the differential diagnosis of retinal diseases and their management. Treatment recommendations are discussed using an evidence-based medicine approach.
