Dr. Andrew Cameron is the director of the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins. There are many exciting things going on in surgery, including world-changing firsts, notable training programs, clinical growth, innovation and wellness of team members so they can live up to the highest clinical standards for their patients.

Dr. Andrew Cameron Appointed Director of the Department of Surgery

Andrew M. Cameron has been named the eighth director of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Cameron is the surgeon-in-chief of The Johns Hopkins Hospital, chief of the Division of Transplantation and a professor of surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A renowned liver transplant surgeon, Dr. Cameron’s research focuses on improving access to and outcomes after organ transplantation for those with end-stage liver and kidney disease. He has helped to develop novel approaches to address the organ shortage, including working with social media companies to add organ donor status to profile pages.
