Yolanda Bennett
Yolanda is a Patient Navigator for the Breast Surgery division, having joined the team in 2020. Yolanda navigates newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, working with patients at The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Skip Viragh Outpatient Center). She helps patients eliminate barriers to care during a difficult time in their lives by providing reliable resources and guidance.
Yolanda has been working in health care since 1998 (LifeBridge Health from 1998-2020). In 2006, she became the first patient navigator at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore at the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Center. Specializing in addressing complex social determinants of health needs, she implemented the Integrative Therapy Program for oncology patients at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and is interested in whole person-centered care. Yolanda was also an Under Armour "Power in Pink" model in 2006. Each year, the national campaign features three breast cancer survivors to model their "Power in Pink" line, from which a portion of the revenue goes to the fight against breast cancer.
She has a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and likes to use her creativity to assist patients.
