Department of Oncology Social Work provides for the psychological, social, emotional, and practical needs of cancer patients and their families. They are masters-level social workers with expertise in the specialized field of oncology. The social workers can teach you how to manage the stress and changes that may come with cancer. The office, located on the first floor of the Weinberg Building, Suite 1210, offers you other services as well, such as information about housing, transportation, counseling, education and support groups. Louise Knight is the Director of the Harry J. Duffey Family, Patient and Family Services Program. She graduated with a Baccalaureate Degree in Human Services from The University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and with a Master of Social Work Degree from Temple University. She has extensive experience in the oncology social work field and has published in the areas of clinical and departmental management. She is the President of the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care, a member of the Association of Oncology Social Work and a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice, Social Work Division.

Tambra Chisolm is a Clinical Social Worker with the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center assigned to JHH @ Greenspring Station. She graduated with a Baccalaureate degree in Sociology from the State University of New York at Albany, a Master of Social Work degree from City University of New York @ Hunter College School of Social Work and a Master of Arts from Loyola University Maryland in Spiritual and Pastoral Care. She has a particular interest in palliative care, grief and loss and a special interest in End-of-Life Work as a Doula.

Bryony Dodsworth is a Clinical Oncology Social Worker with the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Bryony received her baccalaureate degree in Sociology, a minor in social work, and certificate in event planning from the University of Iowa. She graduated with her Master’s in Social Work from St. Ambrose University. Bryony has a particular interest in social determinants of health and how they can be improved at a large scale to better assist her patients.

She graduated with a Baccalaureate degree in Anthropology and a Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in clinical health from the University of Maryland. While pursuing her master's degree, she was a Behavioral Health and Workforce Integration Service and Education Fellow. She is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Work. She has a particular interest in care coordination, and helping patients and families adjust to illness, grief, and loss.

Reverend Miriam provides spiritual support primarily to the Weinberg inpatients, their families, and staff. She completed a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Ohio, followed by an Advanced Master’s degree in Practical Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is an Ordained ELCA (Lutheran) Pastor. Miriam has a particular interest in the emerging field of environmental chaplaincy, exploring the intersection of healthcare and environmental factors and what the natural world can teach us about body, mind, and spirit.
