Diabetes Management
Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center’s comprehensive diabetes program focuses on each individual and not just the disease. Our personalized approach to diabetes care begins at your very first visit to our program and lasts beyond your last interaction with our highly-trained staff. The information shared is designed to put you on the path to living healthy with diabetes for the long term.
JHHCMC has a specialized inpatient diabetes consultation service, headed by Andrew Demidowich, M.D., and Kristine Batty, Ph.D., CRNP, designed to promote better glucose control and assist patients to start on state-of-the-art management and technology. This service is available in all patient-care areas of the hospital and can assist with adjusting insulin doses, controlling high or low blood sugar, beginning insulin pumps, starting continuous glucose monitors and providing education. Of note, Dr. Demidowich and Kristine Batty only see patients in the hospital; they do not have an outpatient clinic.
