Johns Hopkins Health Plans is proud to announce our recent grant of $20,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County. The grant was presented on Aug. 21 to support the organization’s Aging in Place program, which helps ensure aging, low-income citizens in Wicomico County can stay safely at home for as long as they wish.

The grant will fund essential safety modifications and critical home repairs to 32 households in Wicomico County, alleviating common health detriments to aging in place. Improvements will range from roof repair and mold remediation to modifications that will ease and enhance activities of daily living, including walk-in shower installation, grab bars, lighting modifications and handrails.

Priority Partners CEO Ed Kumian and Ellen Willinghan, Priority Partners Community Health Advocate, proudly presented the check to Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director Molly Hilligoss, Director of Development Christina Williams and Director of Family Services Sheri Ewing.

Johns Hopkins Health Plans is committed to finding solutions that address the social and financial barriers that impact community health. We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to bring people together to build homes, community and hope.
