BrighT STAR Learning Health Community
BrighT STAR began as a multicenter quality improvement collaborative uniting children’s hospital across the United States. Today, BrighT STAR is active in over 24 hospitals across 18 states, and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, England.
There continues to be increasing interest from children’s hospitals nationwide and internationally seeking to join the BrighT STAR collaborative and participate in the positive practice change we are making for hospitalized children. Concurrently, there is a growing push at the national policy level for community-based initiatives, like BrighT STAR, which are seen as instrumental in advancing toward a national Learning Health System.
As BrighT STAR transitions to a Learning Health Community, our mission remains the same: to promote patient safety and support quality improvement programs that safely reduce unnecessary testing and treatment, decrease antibiotic resistance, and provide high-value care to critically ill children.
