Wilde Lake Pavilion Site Coming Soon
We are expanding to a new site in Columbia, Maryland! Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging at Wilde Lake Pavilion will be offering 3T and 1.5T MRI, CT, and X-ray exams in November 2024. Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging Columbia will continue to offer mammography, ultrasound, and DEXA exams.
Meet our Breast Imaging Radiologists
Our fellowship-trained and subspecialized physician experts work exclusively in breast imaging. They read and report on breast mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and breast biopsy across all Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging sites.
Bethesda Now Offering Fast Breast MRI
Also known as abbreviated breast MRI, this is a self-pay screening exam for women who may not qualify for a conventional Breast MRI. With less than 10 minutes of scan time, women who are informed they have dense breasts after their mammogram may be recommended for a fast breast MRI by their provider. The out-of-pocket cost at Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging is $475. At this time, Fast Breast MRIs are only available at our Bethesda location.
Breast Density Notification
The patient breast density notification has been updated to reflect a federal regulation that includes a statement on breast density in addition to the currently existing state regulation statement. This notification is sent via MyChart and mailed to patients after the exam. There are no changes to the provider report sent after the mammogram.
Pregnancy Policy
Our pregnancy screening policy has been updated to reflect a better understanding of radiation risks to a fetus. Patients will be screened for pregnancy only for CT or x-ray exams that would result in direct fetal exposure. Patients will continue to be screened for all MRI, Nuclear Medicine/PET, Interventional Radiology, DEXA, and Mammography exams.
