Why hospital medicine? I chose hospital medicine for several reasons. First, I enjoy its intellectual challenge: strong clinical problem-solving and critical thinking skills are key to successfully diagnosing and managing a variety of high-acuity, complex illness in the hospital. Second, I love walking with patients and their families through periods of acute illness, helping them navigate both the disease course and the healthcare system. Finally, I enjoy working with medical students and residents on the Internal Medicine house staff service, playing a role in the education of future physicians.

What are your interests outside of hospital medicine? Cycling around the DMV (e.g. Capital Crescent Trail in DC), hiking, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

What is your favorite thing about Baltimore? I love that Baltimore is a down-to-earth city close to many outdoor activities as well as large metropolitan centers -- a weekend in the Shenandoah Valley is just as accessible as one in NYC!
