Infertility Treatments and Care

At the Johns Hopkins Fertility Center, we work with patients experiencing infertility to explore their options for family building. We have extensive experience working with a wide variety of infertility concerns - whether you are just starting your journey or have known complex medical concerns. Our services range from ovulation induction to more advanced procedures like in vitro fertilization (IVF), which may involve other services like genetic testing, egg donation and/or sperm donation.

Our Infertility Treatments & Services

We offer the following treatment options and services in addition to other collaborative care options. Following an initial assessment, our fertility specialists will create a unique treatment plan for you based on your individual needs and work with you to achieve your goals.

  • Ovulation Induction

    Learn how we help stimulate ovulation and increase the likelihood of pregnancy.

  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

    IUI involves placing sperm into the uterus to increase the chances of fertilization.

  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

    IVF is a multistep process in which medical staff combine eggs and sperm outside of the body and then transfer the fertilized egg (embryo) into the uterus.

  • Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

    PGT can be used to determine the chromosomal or genetic composition of an embryo before embryo transfer.

  • Fertility Preservation

    For patients facing a cancer diagnosis, or those who want to preserve eggs, sperm and/or embryos, we offer embryo, oocyte and sperm cryopreservation (freezing).

  • Donor Egg Treatment

    Donor egg treatment involves IVF treatment using eggs from a donor, rather than the person who will carry the pregnancy. Learn more about the process of using donor eggs.

  • Gestational Carrier (Surrogacy)

    We provide patients who require the use of a gestational carrier to achieve pregnancy with resources to help initiate the process.

  • Become an egg donor

    Healthy individuals between ages 21 and 31 may be eligible to donate eggs to help others achieve their dream of parenthood — and receive compensation for it.

  • Donor Sperm Treatment

    We serve as a resource to our patients who want to use donor sperm to achieve pregnancy. Learn more about the process of using donor sperm.

  • Genetic Carrier Screening

    Learn what conditions your baby may be predisposed to based on your and/or your partner’s genetic disease carrier status.

  • Counseling Services
