A group designated to develop and guide the EBP program within the organization ideally consisting of system leadership (those with authority and ability to obtain resources) and technical leadership (those with inquiry and education expertise). Membership should also cross disciplines but not exceed 5-9 members. The following documents are provided to assist you with developing an EBP Steering Committee.

The EBP team uses this form to identify key impacted groups. These are persons, groups, or departments that have an interest in or concern about your project. This may include approval, subject matter expertise, or resources. Communicate with impacted groups early in the process and keep them updated on progress to ensure their buy-in for implementation.

Fishbone diagramming is a helpful way of identifying problems. Provided here are two basic examples for completing a root cause analysis.

Conduct program evaluations to ensure the program is meeting the objectives and the participants’ needs. After each educational activity, gather staff feedback about the activity, including what went well and what could be improved. Links to established evaluation tools are provided.
