Message from the Brady Advisory Board Chair: Chris Evensen

Chris Evensen

Chris Evensen

In 2003, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and subsequently kidney cancer. I consulted a number of physicians and urologists; all pointed me to Dr. Patrick C. Walsh. I visited him on a cold February morning in 2004 with his book in my hand and became Dr. Walsh’s patient. In March 2004 (St. Patrick’s Day!), Dr. Walsh removed my prostate and a few days later, Dr. Lou Kavoussi removed my left kidney; margins for both surgeries were negative.

Each year, I make the journey to Baltimore for bloodwork and scans and to reconnect with Dr. Walsh. I have been cancer-free for the past 20 years for which I am eternally grateful. I am a proud supporter and advocate of the Brady: tracking the faculty’s cutting-edge research, meeting each new generation of residents and fellows, and referring my family, friends and colleagues to the Brady for their world-class patient care. Our Advisory Board plays a pivotal role in supporting the Brady in its tripartite mission, and it is my honor to serve as its Chair.
