Sleep Laboratory
The Sleep Laboratory at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is specially designed to treat infants to young adults with sleep disorders. Patients suspected of having a sleep disorder are often referred to our Sleep Laboratory for an in-depth overnight sleep study. Our lab offers individualized rooms for each patient, allowing families to stay overnight with their children.
Our overnight sleep studies are performed at our main campus location in St. Petersburg and include a team of sleep medicine physicians, nurse practitioners and registered sleep technologists who work together to diagnose and treat each patient’s specific needs.
What is a Sleep Study?
Sleep studies can help diagnose specific sleep problems. During a sleep study, small electrodes are placed on the patient to record sleep activities. More than 1,000 pages of information with audio and video are recorded during the night, with technologists present at all times to monitor the patient and evaluate the recordings. Once the sleep study is complete, they are read by our board-certified sleep physician. Learn more about our sleep studies.
