James Chinarian, M.D.
Physical Medicine/Rehab
Dr. Chinarian specializes in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Institute for Brain Protection Sciences. He joined the hospital in 2015. His focus is on the care of children with disabilities, whether congenital or acquired. Since joining the hospital, he has started and/or been involved in numerous multidisciplinary clinics, including Torticollis Clinic, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Clinic, Spina Bifida Clinic, Stroke Clinic, Skeletal Dysplasia Clinic, Spasticity Clinic, and most recently Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic. In addition, he sees patients from infancy to young adulthood with various developmental disabilities, especially a large population of patients with cerebral palsy. After graduating from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1989, Dr. Chinarian completed a combined residency in pediatrics and physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at Wayne State University in 1994. He is board certified in both pediatrics and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Jac-Lyn Mela, PA-C
Jac-lyn Mela, PA, joined Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in 2021. She earned her master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Barry University in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2012 and her undergraduate degree in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University. She has extensive previous experience in pediatric surgery. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy & Developmental Medicine. She sees patients at the hospital's main campus in St. Petersburg, and at the Outpatient Care Centers in Tampa, Pasco, and East Lake.
