Nursing Strategic Plan
Every three years, our nurses create a new strategic plan in collaboration with our shared governance teams and nursing leadership cabinet, ensuring alignment with the hospital's overall strategic plan. The plan also defines the contribution of nursing to the overall goals of the organization. To guide our progress and success, each goal has multiple strategies, tactics and metrics. This plan has and continues to set the nursing vision for the three-year cycle and is regularly evaluated by the shared governance coordinating council and the nursing leadership team.
The nursing strategic plan includes strategies such as:
- Fostering an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds thrive and work together to support the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Vision and Mission
- Cultivating strong, consistent, and transformational nursing leaders
- Creating an environment that prioritizes staff health and wellness
- Advancing evidence-based practice and nursing research through evaluation and translation of current evidence to ensure best practice in patient care
- Strengthening the culture of professional growth and education which promotes lifelong learning
- Enhancing the culture of safety in all care settings
