Application Information
-
Application
Submitting an application does not guarantee placement, as demand for practicum experiences often exceeds availability. It is important to note that while we strive to accommodate all requests, pediatric primary care clinical placements may not always be available. The majority of placements are in pediatric subspecialties. Additionally, the available hours for placements may not fulfill the total hours requested. As a result, it may be advisable to explore clinical placement opportunities within the community to ensure fulfillment of your course requirements.
For your application to be considered, it must be completed in full and returned by the specified deadline. If you are selected for a clinical practicum at Johns Hopkins All Children’s, you will be required to respond and accept the placement within the timeframe indicated in your correspondence.
Final placement decisions will be made no later than one month in advance of the start of the semester requested.
- Spring semester: Oct. 1
- Summer semester: March 1
- Fall semester: June 1
Johns Hopkins All Children’s requires that potential preceptors not be contacted directly, preceptor requests are available in the advanced practice provider application.

To ensure an efficient and equitable placement process, please consider the following priorities:
- Priority placement will be given to Johns Hopkins affiliated employees and students over non-Johns Hopkins affiliated students.
- Previous or current Johns Hopkins All Children’s advanced practice students scheduled to graduate at the conclusion of the current application semester will be prioritized.
