Alan Cohen, director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, discusses the case of a 2-year-old boy who presented with progressive headaches and vomiting. The child had been diagnosed with gastroenteritis and sinusitis at an outside facility, but when his symptoms persisted, a CT scan was taken that revealed a large mass.

Cohen and team performed a nine-hour surgical procedure to remove the large mass at the base of the toddler’s brain.
