Helping Medical Students Engage in High-Quality Research and Scholarship Opportunities

The Office of Medical Student Research and Scholarship administers the Scholarly Concentrations course, works with students to organize an annual Medical Student Research Symposium, creates and maintains a database of current and previous mentors and projects, provides stipends for summer and year-long research experiences at Johns Hopkins, provides funds for travel to present at national/international conferences, and provides awards for outstanding faculty mentorship and student scholarship.

Research Funding

The Office of Medical Student Research administers funding for summer research projects, for longitudinal research opportunities and training, and for travel to national conferences where students can present their work.

    The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine offers several distinctions to recognize high-quality medical student scholarship.
