About Mihaela Carter
Background
Mihaela Carter, M.D. earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iuliu Hatieganu, Romania. Following this, she pursued her internal medicine training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, NY.
Subsequently, she completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. After completing her fellowship, in 2015, she joined Infectious Disease Associates private practice and has been with the company since then.
Dr. Carter specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of infections, including urinary tract infections, pneumonia, bacteremia, infective endocarditis, osteomyelitis, HIV, hepatitis B and C, among others. She maintains a particular interest in general Infectious Diseases.
Dr. Carter sees patients in both office and hospital settings, including critically ill patients.

Dr. Carter is a very professional doctor and an expert in her field . She knows a lot and was very helpful in identifying and ruling out possible causes for my health condition which has no clear-cut symptoms. She was very thorough and knew the information right away. She is also very experienced and helped differentiate symptoms. Dr. Carter is a very attentive listener and she listened patiently to all the information I had. Overall, I would highly recommend her to everyone I know.

Dr. Carter is one of the best physicians I see and unfortunately I see many. I am currently facing a difficult medical/surgical decision and Dr. Carter was compassionate and caring and non judgmental as I talked it through with her. I see Dr. Carter every 6 months or yearly for a chronic situation and I always get my questions answered, worries allayed and helpful information from her.
