About Ye Qiao
Primary Academic Title
Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiological Science
Background
Dr. Ye Qiao is an Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science. Her research focuses on the development and implementation of vascular magnetic resonance techniques for the understanding of cerebrovascular disease.
Dr. Qiao received her Ph.D. degree in Biophysics from Boston University School of Medicine and was trained in MRI imaging of atherosclerosis in animal models and humans. In 2008, Dr. Qiao joined the Neurovascular Imaging Center at Johns Hopkins as a postdoctoral fellow, and became an Assistant Professor in 2012.
Dr. Qiao’s research is focused on detection and characterization of atherosclerotic plaques in extracranial and intracranial circulations in both clinical and population-based studies. She has developed intracranial vascular MRI protocol and implemented to different clinical settings and the population-based studies (i.e., ARIC).
