Background
Dr. Solmaz Sahebjam is a medical oncologist and an associate professor of oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her expertise is in primary and metastatic brain tumors, breast cancer, and the development of new drugs for cancer.
She earned her medical degree from Iran University of Medical Sciences, followed by a post-doctoral research fellowship at Shriners Hospital, McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Sahebjam completed residency training in internal medicine at Saint Vincent Hospital, followed by a fellowship in internal medicine at the University of Ottawa in Canada. She continued her training with a residency in medical oncology at McGill University in Canada followed by a fellowship in early-phase drug development, breast oncology, and neurooncology at Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto in Canada.
Dr. Sahebjam’s research is focused on the development of novel therapeutic regimens for the treatment of cancer including breast and central nervous system malignancies. Over the years, she has led and contributed to numerous clinical trials some of which have resulted in new treatment options for patients with cancer.
