Background
Dr. Lisa Yanek is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the General Internal Medicine division. She studies cardiovascular disease in families and risk factor modification.
Dr. Yanek received a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master of public health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health before joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1995. She is a member of the American Public Health Association, the American Heart Association and the American Society of Human Genetics. She is also a reviewer for Health Education Research, BMC Health Services Research and the Archives of Internal Medicine.

- Research in the Lisa Yanek Lab focuses on cardiovascular disease in families and risk factor modification. Recently, we conducted a study to determine the association of lean versus fat mass with fitness in healthy, overweight and obese African Americans from families with early-onset coronary disease.
