Background
Karen Wang, M.D., is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon whose primary clinical focus is on the surgical management of benign gynecologic conditions, including abnormal bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain and office procedures. She is the division director of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery for Johns Hopkins as well as associate fellowship director. Her research interests include quality and safety, surgical outcomes and surgical training.
In her previous role, Dr. Wang was the associate director and fellowship director of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She has a passion for patient-centered care and treats patients as if they are family. She believes that innovative gynecologic surgical procedures can help women get their lives back with shorter and less painful recovery times.

I did not see a provider I saw a physician. Dr. Karen Wang is an excellent surgeon. I feel so much better after my surgery, she did a masterful job. She has incredible bedside manner, she is kind and caring. Her visits never feel rushed. She made time to see me in her schedule twice when I had an issue. I would recommend her to any patient.

Dr. Wang was thoughtful, clear, and compassionate in providing advice and recommending surgery. She clearly had spent time with my (complex) medical record and she listened to my concerns and priorities. I really appreciated her expertise and how she approached the interaction.

Dr. Karen Wang is a wonderful surgeon. I am a physician myself and was blown away by how detailed and knowledgeable she was. She was extremely kind and courteous. She gave me evidence based medical guidance. She was actually recommended to me by an anesthesiologist friend who has seen her operate and said she is the "best of the best." Very happy to have her as my surgeon.
