About Janet Myra Noel

Professional Titles

  • Endocrine Hospitalist

Background

Dr. Jaye Noel is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist specializing in inpatient care.

Dr. Noel leads the Inpatient Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Services (IDMS) at Sibley Memorial Hospital where she oversees specialty diabetes clinical consultation services designed to promote better glycemic (blood sugar levels) control and reduce hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and glucose-related safety challenges in hospitalized patients.

This unique program is modeled after successful IDMS at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Suburban Hospital, where it has improved the care of people living with diabetes and decreased patients' length of stay.

In addition to her endocrine expertise, Dr. Noel was involved in both patient and community outreach programs to further diabetes education in the local community.  She previously served on a regional transplant committee, a national diabetes committee and a regional transgender committee where she was involved in developing a system of care for patients seeking gender-affirming surgery.

Dr. Noel is consistently recognized as a Washingtonian “Top Doc” and is dedicated to patient education and shared decision making.  In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, hiking with her dog, cooking classes and spending time with her husband, daughter and son.
