Background
Dr. David Thiemann is a cardiologist in Baltimore, caring for patients with cardiovascular disease. He is an associate professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with a joint appointment in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He serves as the director of biomedical informatics in the Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and as the co-director of the Center for Clinical Data Analysis at Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Dr. Thiemann received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University. He earned his M.D. at the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his residency in internal medicine and performed a fellowship in cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Thiemann joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1995.
His research interests include information systems and angioplasty.
Dr. Thiemann is a member of the American Heart Association’s Council on Epidemiology and Prevention. He is a reviewer for multiple medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Circulation.
