Background
Dr. Moore’s research is focused on use of preclinical models to determine the effects of cannabinoids, including delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), with a focus on sex and route of administration (e.g. vaporized, oral, intraperitoneal injection). Current projects are evaluating the rewarding and reinforcing efficacy of THC vapor using conditioned place preference and e-vape self-administration techniques. Further, she is investigating the neurobehavioral effects of THC, CBD, and other minor cannabinoids using tests of anxiety-like behavior and operant tasks of motivation and attention.
Research Summary
Our laboratory in the Division of Behavioral Biology focuses on the behavioral pharmacology of several drug classes including cannabinoids, opioids, alcohol, and nicotine. We conduct preclinical research using laboratory animals.
