Background
Dr. Philip D. Bobrow is an orthopaedic surgeon affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Hospital and Georgetown University Hospital, where he is a clinical associate professor of surgery. Dr. Bobrow has been in practice since 1983. He has an individualized approach to patient care, customizing each care plan to a patient’s specific needs. Dr. Bobrow practices out of Summit Orthopedics in Chevy Chase, MD.
Dr. Bobrow is one of only a few surgeons in the country that are specialized in bone-conserving procedures of minimally invasive hip and knee surgery and partial-knee replacements. Along with advanced pain-management protocol, Dr. Bobrow used this training to help pioneer a multidisciplinary approach to joint replacement surgery in the Washington area that enables accelerated recovery. This approach was featured in Sibley’s On Health Magazine in May 2014. His expertise focuses on adult reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, sports medicine and general orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Bobrow earned his medical degree from S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed residencies in general surgery and orthopedic surgery at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Bobrow has numerous achievements, such as being listed as a Top Doctor in Washingtonian Magazine every issue since 1993. In 2008, he was personally profiled in the magazine. He has also been listed in every Outstanding Physician Specialist issue of Consumers’ Checkbook Magazine since 1998. In 2014, he was named Physician of the Year by the Sibley Hospital Medical Association and had more positive mention than any other orthopaedic surgeon in the Washington area. Dr. Bobrow is also a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Bobrow is currently involved in the residency teaching program at George Washington University and was previously a Team Physician for American University.
