Background
Michael Albert is a concierge physician with Johns Hopkins Personalized Care. He partners closely with each of his patients to provide individualized care, to help them achieve their best health outcomes. He believes in listening closely to patients and tailoring his approach according to each patient’s needs and preferences. Dr. Albert is passionate about prevention and helping his patients achieve and maintain optimal health and quality of life. As an internal medicine physician, he also draws on his experience and deep knowledge base to diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions. As a concierge physician, Dr. Albert has immediate availability to give medical advice, and he provides care thorough medical consultations in the office and via videoconference, telephone and asynchronous messaging. He coordinates each patient’s care thoughtfully, and is personally available to his patients when they have urgent needs.
Dr. Albert received a bachelor’s degree in ecology from Princeton University, and after teaching science for four years, he enrolled in the University of Maryland (UMMS) to obtain a medical degree. He began work as a primary care physician immediately after completing internal medicine residency training at UMMS in 2007, and he joined Johns Hopkins in 2009. Dr. Albert was the chief of internal medicine for Johns Hopkins Community Physicians for nearly a decade, before again devoting himself fully to primary care medicine with Johns Hopkins Personalized Care in 2024.
In 2016, Dr. Albert was inducted into the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Academy of Clinical Excellence. Earlier in his career, he was involved in medical education and research at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Albert has received multiple teaching awards, and he has partnered with numerous Johns Hopkins researchers on primary care studies focused on improving cardiovascular and metabolic health.
Dr. Albert lives with his wife and their two teenage children. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, as well as sailing, water sports, skiing and other outdoor activities with his family and friends.

I love Dr. Albert and wish that he was not leaving and going to the concierge service. More importantly I wish that other providers and more importantly corporations would model their visits after the care that Dr. Albert provides. He has been the best doctor I have ever worked with and the time, patience, concern and care he shows for his patients is top notch. He really loves to practice preventative medicine which is how our healthcare system should be practicing. I can't recommend Dr. Albert enough!!

Dr. Michael was just about the best experience I've had with a provider in years. He was approachable, relatable and empathetic. I can't say enough just what an enjoyable experience it was.
