Lauren Zoe Gavaris, MD

Dr. Lauren Z. Gavaris is an ophthalmologist affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital, as well as a resident and fellow educator at Georgetown University, Washington Hospital Center and Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Gavaris practices out of Eye Associates of Washington, D.C., located in Washington, D.C. and Vienna, Va. 

Dr. Gavaris has an expertise in functional and cosmetic eyelid and eyebrow surgery, tearing disorders, eyelid skin cancers, thyroid eye disease, facial trauma, Botox and injectable facial fillers. 

Dr. Gavaris earned her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at Washington Hospital Center, followed by a fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. 

Dr. Gavaris is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Gavaris has contributed to a publication on upper eyelid coloboma repair using accessory preauricular cartilage in a patient with Goldenhar syndrome.
