Dr. Escoto specializes in neonatology with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Maternal, Fetal & Neonatal Institute. He also sees patients through the Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Center for Women and Babies, Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg General Hospital and the Medical Center of Trinity.

Dr. Escoto is a part-time instructor of pediatrics for Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a clinical assistant professor for University of South Florida College of Medicine. He was vice chair then chair of the Department of Medicine for Johns Hopkins All Children’s from 1992-96. Throughout his career, Dr. Escoto has focused strongly on research and teaching. He is director of the Neonatal Simulation Lab. He is also the director of the Neonatal Therapeutic Hypothermia Program.

He received the Armstrong Award for Excellence in Quality & Safety in the 2018 Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Excellence Awards.

Dr.  Escoto earned his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, College of Health Sciences and Hospital and a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at University of Connecticut Health Sciences Center.

In addition to many others, he retains membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, Pinellas County Medical Society and the Florida Society of Neonatologists.
