Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center Names Board Chair, Vice Chair

COLUMBIA, Md. — Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center named William Saway, M.D., chair of the board of trustees and Sheri Lewis vice chair.
- William Saway, M.D., has been a member of Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center’s professional staff for more than 25 years and has served on the credentialing and membership committees. He practices internal medicine at Columbia Medical Practice with interest and experience in diabetes, cardiovascular health, hypertension and preventive medicine. Saway completed residencies and an internship at Washington Hospital Center. He earned his medical degree at the Howard University College of Medicine and bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland.
- Sheri Lewis is the deputy mission area executive for national health at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, where she leads efforts to detect and respond to changes in health status to better predict and prevent illness, injury and disease. A global disease surveillance expert, Lewis led the team responsible for the data pipeline behind the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center COVID-19 dashboard. She earned her Master of Public Health from George Washington University and bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland.
